Gmail grew 43% in 2008 as compared to 2007. Gmail attracted 29.6 million more users as compared to Yahoo, AOL, and Hotmail which made Gmail the fastest growing e-mail service on the web.
Google launched Gmail almost 4 years back and now it is the fourth popular but the fastest growing mail service. It is a point of accomplishment and appreciation for Gmail as while competing with massive giants in the market, it has still managed to achieve so much.
In fact, Google should be proud of Gmail due to its success as Window’s Hotmail Live e-mail service has dropped its users by 5 per cent.
One can imagine how Gmail managed so many users to create a new Gmail account when they have other reliable e-mail services available. Well its is very simple. Gmail have evolved themselves so rapidly that users couldn’t resist.
Gmail have tried their best to provide Gmail account users with reliable and productive online mailing features and that too for free which others have not done.
Google have perfectly provided Gmail account users features beyond basic search which has created a more stronger connection for Gmail with its users.
According to statistics, the rate at which Gmail is in progress, it will over take AOL and Hotmail over the next two years. But still, Gmail will need to work very hard to over take the giant Yahoo which gained 9.4 million users to Google’s Gmail 8.8 million.
