Loren Brichter first implemented the popular “pull to refresh” functionality in Tweetie 2 for iPhone, since then lots of others have been inspired to create similar stuff. It was used for twitter as well as facebook.
Thanks to a tweak available in Cydia simply called “Pull To Refre
sh for Mail” you can download for free, the Mail app for iPhone allows you to scroll a list of messages and when you reach the top of the list, refresh it to check for new messages. Just like in Tweetie 2. It may be based on Brichter’s own code or some open source alternative, but it just works awesome.
It works pretty neat, it certainly is better than taping that refresh button, if you have your iphone jailbroken than go ahead and make mail checking easier.
