Motorola have confirmed that they are delaying the launch of its Droid Bionic 4G phone until this summer so that they can improve the software and hardware by that time. The Droid Bionic 4G was introduced at the Consumer Electronic show in January LosVegas. It was the fastest android phone that was put in CES, and it is still fastest running android 2.2 smartphone till this date.
The phone is powerd by GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor being fueled by Verizon Wireless’s 4G LTE network.
Motorola mobility network CEO Sanjay Jha, that the phone would be launching in the second quarter. The statement proved to be premature, as Motorola told Eweek that it was delaying the device to at least late June in order to make some modification.
According to one of Motorola’s spokesman:
“Based on compelling feedback since the show, we are incorporating several enhancements to make this an even better consumer experience, This includes expanded features, functionality and an improved form factor”
One of the main reason behind the delay of the phone is said to be the launch of iPhone 5. A report suggest that Motorola would be countering the new features of the iPhone 5. But in my opinion this is the right time to launch the phone, because after the launch of iPhone 5 no one would even remember this phone.
