The basic idea of the mobile wallet has been gaining popularity everyday all over the Europe recently. It will be the first ever service that would allow the users to pay for any kind of purchases or things which they would buy via their mobile phone. This service has been recently launched in UK. Users who wish to use the system named as Quick Tap would going to need an Orange and Barclaycard accounts along with the smartphones in order to make the contactless payments.
Quick Tap is basically a team work between Orange and Barclaycard. It will involve a NFC-enabled Samsung Tocco Lite handset. Only procurements up to the value of £15 could be able to made using the service but users can also preload their mobile phones with up to £100.
David Chan who is the chief executive of Barclaycard Consumer once said: “TO be having a wallet on my mobile phone has made life much easier and it is also more convenient to make purchases on the move just like in a minute and he likes that it allows him to keep track of what he is spending and where does he go.”
Pippa Dunn who is the vice president of the Orange said: “This service will going to start a revolution in the way people pay for things on the high street,” Among shops signed up to the various technological systems include McDonalds, EAT, Pret-a-Manger and some Boots stores. Other stores have also signed up the service which includes Subway, Little Chef, Wilkinson and the National Trust.
