For all those who were saving thousand of dollars just to get their hands on a 4K monitor, stop saving as Dell has just announced their 24 and 27 inch 4K monitors at a tempting price of $600 and $700!! Now that sounds pretty amazing as with this price tag you are getting a 4K monitor featuring 1.07 billion colors with the resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 at 60Hz. Apart from a great screen and 178 degree viewing angle, you will get DisplayPort 1.2 in/out connectors, along with HDMI (MHL) inputs and 4 USB 3.0 ports.
Now a bad news for the gamers, as the monitors are not aimed at gamers these monitors have mediocre 8ms/9ms refresh times and the panels are 8-bit instead of 10-bits. Coming to sRGB both the monitors have wide colour coverage of 99% sRGB which results in great colour accuracy.
The competitors? There are no competitors actually with such a mouth watering price tag but Samsung’s 28-inch U28D590D is the closest rival though it lacks an IPS display. So these 4K monitors will hugely benefit the graphic hungry users who need a 4K display with a great price tag.
According to Dell:
“The new P2415Q and P2715Q monitors have superb usability. They are suited for users who spend long hours designing, editing and creating visual content. The displays allow work to be viewed from any angle with a screen that tilts, pivots, swivels and has adjustable height features. Dell’s newest 4K monitors are also equipped with extensive digital connectivity that allows the user to easily connect with other peripherals simultaneously as well as view content from handheld devices on the monitor screen without compromising picture quality. Graphics professionals and aficionados can do their best work on technology that provides adjustability, accuracy and reliability.”
