At the moment, the biggest change made by Microsoft is to eliminate the series name word from its part of OS Name. After eliminating the Series word, Windows Phone 7 becomes the official name for Microsoft Mobile Operating system.
Microsoft has not announced or released this new even on their official web site or release on any other web site, they announced this news through official web site of Twitter. The change has nothing to do with the Operating system features and functions only there is change in the name of the Operating system.
