Facebook Users upto 60 Percent Ready to Quit

Facebook the most popular social network site have to find new and improved privacy setting for their Customer. Otherwise large numbers of Facebook users are planning to quit due to the data privacy issue and approximately 60 % of the users are in the process of leaving Facebook.  IT security firm known as Sophos has carried out the survey about the data privacy issues of the Facebook users. According to Sophos, survey was carried out from the 1,588 Facebook users and it discovered that the major concern of the users is about the Data privacy, sharing of data over network. Almost most of the users are thinking to leave the Facebook social network site and among them approximately 16 to 20 percent have stopped using the Facebook because of insufficient privacy of their data. The sharing option ‘opt-out’ provided by Facebook has been criticized among the users. The social networking site announced that Facebook is planning to introduce changes in the prevailing data privacy policy for the Users. Due to prevailing privacy concerns, several Facebook members are thinking to quit the popular social networking site — at least 60% of them — according to a latest survey conducted by IT security firm, Sophos. In a poll of 1,588 Facebook users, it revealed that the extent of member concerns is over the network’s privacy settings. The online survey showed that almost two thirds of Facebook users are considering leaving, with 16% claiming to have already stopped using Facebook as a result of inadequate control over their data. Only recently, Facebook has been criticized over changes on how it can share user data across its site and with other websites. On the other side, most of the users are fed up and even majority of them are confused that how to set their Facebook privacy option. Users are really donot know who are sharing their data and the setting is so complex that it needs to be more understandable and ease to handle by Users. Facebook has to seriously look into the matter and make sure that the changes to the privacy policy are clear, concise and setting should be understandable for the Facebook users to know exactly who has access to their information whatever they chose to upload.
